Live Weather Maps is a Google gadget that shows you the weather conditions (cloud cover, humidity, wind speed and direction, precipitation), temperature, daylight/night time map and weather forecast for the next 72 hours in 3 hour intervals in your favorite places. The gadget is a Earth map, which, depending on the configuration easily edited in the "edit settings" section, shows a map / satellite / terrain or hybrid photo with the current weather conditions / weather forecasts in the selected place. The map can be zoomed in/out or panned on the desired place, thus making it usable not only for weather, but geographical information and travel planning as well. The edit settings section also includes the ability to change the temperature unit to the preferred (Fahrenheit / Celsius) and the option of a daylight layer. Also included in the gadget are current weather reports and news (from the NOAA server), by clicking the "View the weather forecasts for your favorite places!" link you will be able to view the forecast for the next 3 days in your selected locations. The weather forecasts are calculated for over 2.000.000 locations in the world or any other location that is manually entered. You can check the weather forecast for places that are on your list of favorite locations (in cookies). When you first use this service, you will have only few preconfigured places on the list of your locations. You can change this list by manually clicking the desired place on the map to add or delete it. Upon the next refresh, the map will auto adjust, so that it covers the exact desired places.
